Lacy Looking to Rebound After Disappointing '15 Season
After a disappointing 2015 season, Lacy enters the 2016 campaign with high expectations, as he dropped between 15 and 18 pounds in the offseason on the heels of head coach Mike McCarthy questioning his shape, according to ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky.
Lacy registered 758 rushing yards on 187 carries and five total touchdowns in 2015, and in addition to his weight issues, injuries likely played a role.
Along with a banged-up ankle limiting his effectiveness early in the season, Lacy suffered a groin injury in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers.
With Lacy constantly at less than 100 percent and struggling to produce when on the field last season, the Packers found success in the running game from other sources at times, including James Starks.
More often than not, however, the pressure to move the ball fell on the shoulders of quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the passing game.
In general, the lack of a consistent running game was among the Packers' biggest issues last season, and Lacy's return to form could rectify that problem quickly.
