Redskins Need Norman Healthy for Playoff Push
Currently in his fifth NFL season, Norman had 56 tackles and four picks in 2015. The Coastal Carolina product has been hindered by injuries for most of his NFL career, though, missing time in two of the three previous seasons.
He was limited to seven games in 2013 and missed time with a concussion in 2014. He's been banged up in 2016 so far, too, suffering from a "heavily sprained wrist," but he has still accumulated 27 combined tackles and one interception.
Norman, 28, had one interception before exiting in Week 7.
When in the lineup, Norman has emerged as one of the NFL's best all-around cornerbacks. Pro Football Focus ranked him seventh at the position last season, the third straight year he was a positive influence on the defense after an up-and-down rookie year.
Despite his success, Norman found himself on the free-agent market after the Carolina Panthers rescinded their franchise tag. He wound up landing a massive contract in Washington, where he's expected to anchor a defense in desperate need of an elite corner.
