Montgomery to Undergo Surgery

Tuesday, Dec. 22

ESPN's Rob Demovsky reported, per Montgomery's agent Damarius Bilbo, that Montgomery will undergo surgery to clean up cartilage damage.

Montgomery Reportedly Placed on IR

Monday, Dec. 21

Demovsky reported Andrew Quarless was activated off temporary injured reserve to take Montgomery's place on the roster.

Packers Have Talent, Depth to Overcome Montgomery's Injury

With Jordy Nelson out for the season after suffering a torn ACL, Montgomery moved up on the depth chart and assumed a large role on offense and special teams.

Montgomery has caught 15 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns while serving as the team's primary return man on kickoffs this season.

Without Montgomery, Aaron Rodgers will give more looks to Randall Cobb, James Jones and Davante Adams at the wide receiver position.

Given Rodgers' ability to spread the ball around and extend plays with his legs, Green Bay is well-positioned to handle Montgomery's absence.
