Little League World Series 2015: Japan vs. Red Land Championship Schedule, More
Two championships have already been won, and now the Little Leaguers from Japan and Red Land, Pennsylvania, will square off for the Little League World Series Championship.
Both teams will try to overcome challenging obstacles to win the title. Japan will have to overcome a huge home-field advantage enjoyed by Red Land. Record-setting crowds have filled Howard J. Lamade Stadium at every game the Pennsylvania team has played in the tournament, and another huge throng of 45,000 or more should fill the stadium and surrounding grounds Sunday.
Red Land will try to become the first U.S.-based team to win the Little League World Series since 2011. Red Land became the first Pennsylvania team to win the U.S. Little League World Series title since 1990, but no team from the Keystone State has won the overall championship since 1960.

Both Japan and Red Land won their games in walk-off fashion Saturday. Japan and Mexico were wrapped up in a scoreless battle that extended to extra innings. Koki Jo hit a fielder's choice ground ball up the middle that scored the only run of the game when Mexican fielders were unable to turn a near-impossible double play.

Japan had not recorded a hit prior to the seventh inning, but Yugo Aoki and Kengo Tomita recorded hits in the bottom of the seventh before Jo's ground ball gave Japan a 1-0 victory.
Manager Jorge Armenta of Mexico credited the Japanese team for its strong fundamental play. "There are a lot of things, I think, their discipline, their culture," Armenta said through a translator after the game, according to the Associated Press via Yahoo. "They're always focused on the game and always make plays."

Red Land earned its victory in the bottom of the sixth inning when Chayton Krauss laced a one-out single to the wall in right field that scored Braden Kolmansberger with the winning run in a 3-2 victory over Pearland West of Texas in front of a record-setting 45,716 fans.
Cole Wagner reached the 85-pitch limit for Red Land and was forced out of the game with two outs in the sixth inning. Jaden Henline replaced him. Both Wagner and Henline hit home runs for Red Land's first two runs.

Japan and Red Land will play the championship game at 3 p.m. ET, and there's every reason to believe it will be a memorable one.
Both teams were undefeated throughout the tournament, and while Red Land used its power to score 27 runs in its first two LLWS wins, it has demonstrated pitching, defense and clutch hitting in winning its last two games while scoring six runs.
Japan has won all four of its games by two runs or less. The team's strengths have been pitching, defense and stellar execution when the game has been on the line in the final innings.
Japan's confidence has been high throughout the World Series, and that's because the team has had great success in the tournament. Japanese teams have won nine previous LLWS titles, including three since 2010.
The key for Japan may be holding Red Land's power in check. Wagner's home run against Pearland West was his fourth of the tournament—the most of any player in the Little League World Series. If the Japanese pitchers can keep him from going yard in the title game, it may provide Japan with the boost it needs to overcome Red Land's notable home-field advantage.
Mexico and Pearland West will meet at Lamade Stadium in the third-place game at 10 a.m. ET.
