McKinnon Comments on Playing Status

Wednesday, Nov. 2

"I’m getting better and I’m looking forward to playing Sunday," McKinnon said, per Chris Tomasson of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

Vikings Need McKinnon Healthy to Rebound vs. Detroit

McKinnon burst onto the scene in 2014 as a rookie and rushed for 538 yards in 11 games. He likely would have led the team in rushing yards if he didn’t suffer an injury in November, and he even got involved in the passing game with 135 receiving yards.

However, even with Adrian Peterson hitting injured reserve on Sept. 23 with a knee injury, McKinnon has just 217 yards on 68 attempts this season. The Vikings have needed to rely on Matt Asiata to fill the void in their backfield.

The Vikings are coming off a defeat against the struggling Chicago Bears, and Sam Bradford will need to step up his game as Minnesota looks to rebound from a tough loss.
