Maybe these aren't your big brothers' Raiders anymore.
I have said the Raiders aren't hard hitting enough—they repeatedly smacked the Chargers.
It took a while, but the Chargers finally hit back in the fourth quarter as they so often do against hard hitting teams (for example, the Tennessee Titans).
I loved the downhill running of Darren McFadden and the tough guy attitude of Michael Bush.
I loved the poise of JaMarcus Russell in the 4th quarter. I love that the Raiders are going to hit people in the mouth this year.
I loved the audacity of that 4th down touchdown pass by Russell.
It's a whole lot more fun that way.
Did anyone happen to get a glance at Legadu Naanee out there?
He is as good as advertised. Sheesh! The guy catches everything. Naanee, simply put, was amazing on the Chargers game winning touchdown drive with a couple of key catches.
There wasn't much LaDainian Tomlinson out there, but he did a pretty good job when he was called upon. I'm not sure if he was hurt or the game just called for more Darren Sproles who was a lethal (plus kickoff and punt muffing) weapon out there.
The Raiders haven't still haven't won the turnover battle against the Chargers in at least six years and lose again, but they handled themselves quite well on the big stage tonight.
Then again, the Raiders beat up on the Chargers in Oakland last year too.
