Barcelona Transfer News: Huge Paul Pogba and Arda Turan Rumours Emerge
Barcelona have sent Albert Soler, the club's director of sporting institutional relations, to Italy in order to secure the signing of Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.
AS reports "an offer of around €80 million plus various add-ons is on the table" for the French midfielder who is likely to be the subject of this summer's costliest piece of business.
Soler has joined sporting director Ariedo Braida on the excursion at a time where Barca are also said to be in "advanced" negotiations with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Arda Turan, per AS. This potential switch is likely to be far simpler than securing a deal for Pogba.

Juventus managing director Giuseppe Marotta is happy to meet the travelling Blaugrana officials, but according to AS, he isn't willing to discuss Pogba with Barca presidential candidate Joan Laporta.
Having previously promised to sign David Beckham before he originally took up the hot seat in 2003—a failure which led to Barca signing Ronaldinho—Laporta continues to publicly use Pogba's name in a bid to secure votes.
"The key to the signing is Mino Raiola (Pogba's agent)," Laporta told El Partido de las 12 on radio station Cadena Cope (h/t Dermot Corrigan of ESPN FC). "It is true I have a very good relationship with him and I believe that, if I am president, Pogba will play for Barcelona."
"I think it's fine that the caretaker board meets with Juve, but the one they have to speak with is Raiola—he has the key," Laporta continued.
B/R UK tweeted Sport's front page on Tuesday, highlighting the interest of other elite clubs in Pogba:
Guillem Balague of B/R UK recently discussed Barca's long-standing interest in the 22-year-old:
Pogba won't be able to join the Catalan club until January if he does agree a move. Barca's transfer ban concludes when the winter window arrives, finally allowing the acquisition of new players after 18 months without making squad improvements due to the illegal signing of minors.
Turan may also benefit from the lifting of such restrictions. Catalunya Radio (h/t AS) reported ongoing negotiations between Atletico and Barca for the versatile Turkish star. He would fit in across Luis Enrique's midfield at the Camp Nou, offering energy, combativeness and quality on the ball.
Enrique increased the dogged nature of Barca's play during his opening season—best highlighted through Ivan Rakitic's signing—a subtle change which led to La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League success. Turan would likely be a luxury squad player, someone rotated in to provide steel without compromising on creativity.

Premier League clubs Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with the player who will announce his next club on Friday, according to James Robson of the Manchester Evening News. B/R UK's Andy Brassell passed comment on the 28-year-old:
It's likely Enrique's future squad will take shape during the summer, although waiting half a season for any new arrivals will be frustrating. Both he and Barca have proven they are more than equipped to dominate, so once FIFA's transfer ban lifts, the rest of Europe are likely to look on in terror.
The next president—whether Laporta wins, Bartomeu retains his position or another candidate sneaks in—isn't going to hold back the club from spending on players who can cement their legacy. Pogba and Turan would be world-class additions for the side who are on the brink of another era of success.
