WWE Battleground 2015: Stars Who Will Break Out at PPV Event

Aaron BowerJun 30, 2015

In the runup to WWE Battleground, there have been a few hints that some stars could find their next big break at the event and make a substantial leap forward.

That involves stars who have been away from the limelight somewhat but could be set to make a major statement at the show, as well as young rookies who could make their first big impact on pay-per-view.

Regardless of the circumstances or the background of each star, there are plenty on the roster who could break out at Battleground.

Ryback

It hasn't been the most impressive start to life as Intercontinental champion for Ryback, but all the signs point towards Battleground being a big night for The Big Guy.

His first major title reign has limped along so far, but with plenty of time between now and Battleground, Ryback will be able to add depth and momentum to his story as we move towards the next big pay-per-view.

His promo work has massively improved, with fans now seeing a different side to Ryback, with The Big Guy showcasing much more of a personality.

He's scheduled to defend his title against both Big Show and The Miz, but if the WWE is serious about Ryback's title reign, he shouldn't face too many problems with those two.

Ryback is evolving into a different kind of character from the one we've seen in recent years, and Battleground should see him firmly establish himself as a solid champion.

Bray Wyatt

Throughout the course of his time in WWE, Bray Wyatt has definitely had some breakout performances.

Wyatt always seems to be on the verge of something big before suffering a setback, but for once, he has a feud that fans can get interested in and genuinely buy into.

His feuds with the likes of Ryback and Dean Ambrose have been confusing to say the least, but in going after the man who denied him a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match in Roman Reigns, Wyatt now has a feud with substance.

His promo work is, as ever, unique and intriguing, and should Wyatt back that up with a few victories inside the ring between now and Battleground, then his match with Reigns will be well worth watching.

Wyatt and Reigns closed Raw out this past week after Wyatt issued yet another beatdown to his foe. All the signs suggest that when they meet at Battleground, this could be another defining night in the career of Bray Wyatt.
