Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Watkins Practiced in Very Limited Capacity Tuesday
Tuesday, June 16
Matthew Fairburn of Syracuse.com has the latest on Watkins:
"The good news for the Bills is wide receiver Sammy Watkins, who has been recovering from offseason hip surgery, took one rep during team drills Tuesday. That was Watkins' first rep during team drills since surgery.
"He's getting close," [Bills head coach Rex] Ryan said. "He's right where we want him to be. By training camp we expect him to be ready to roll."
"
Watkins is a huge part of Buffalo's offense, having exploded onto the scene during his rookie year after finishing with 65 receptions for 982 yards and six touchdowns, so getting him back fully healthy and ready to go for the 2015-16 season is a huge priority for the team.
Along with running back LeSean McCoy and wide receiver Percy Harvin, Watkins provides the Bills with big-play potential and explosiveness, something this offense lacked in the past. While head coach Rex Ryan is likely to implement a ground-and-pound running scheme, Watkins is still the team's best deep threat and a weapon they'll look to feed with regularity.
