Bradley Placed on 15-Day DL With Tendinitis
Thursday, June 4
The Diamondbacks announced Robbie Ray would be recalled from Triple-A Reno to replace Bradley. Manager Chip Hale confirmed Bradley's MRI did not show damage, just tendinitis, according to Steve Gilbert of MLB.com.
Bradley was on the disabled list earlier in the season after suffering a sinus fracture in a scary incident where he was struck in the face by a batted ball. He returned May 16 but struggled in all four starts since making his return to the staff.
The 22-year-old rookie gave up at least four runs in each of those outings, most recently against the Atlanta Braves June 1. In all, he's made eight starts this season and sports a 5.80 ERA with a 1.63 WHIP and just 23 strikeouts to go along with 22 walks.
Arizona will give him a chance to rest his shoulder in the hope he can get back to full strength and start pitching up to his potential.
