Oakland Raiders Game Recap Vs. Saints 8/29/09

Kyle BallingerContributor ISeptember 1, 2009

Raiders were absoultly decimated against the powerhouse offence of the Saints by a score of 7-45. I'm not saying that EVERYBODY played bad, but no one played amazing. Heres a rundown of the players performances.

The Passing game was not the big trouble of the Raiders offence. Jamarcuss Russell went 12-18 with 153 yards while Jeff Garcia went 9-15 with 111 yards and 1 touchdown. Jamarcuss enjoyed throwing to Zach Miller, going 4-4 with 72 yards while Jeff liked Louis Murphy going 2-4 with 46 yards to him.

The running game was a big problem for most Raiders. The only good runner was Garry Russell rushing 3 times for 42 yards and breaking out a 26 yard run. But Darrenn McFadden went 3 rushes for no yards and a fumble while Michael Bush went 1 rush for 1 yard. Justin Fargas did not play in this game.

Zach Miller was on fire this game and it's obvious he has great communication with Jamarcuss and Jeff getting four catches from Jamarcuss and three from Jeff. Zach went with 7 receptions and 74 yards.

The quarterbacks were also able to find a deep threat in rookie Louis Murphy getting just 3 receptions but with 84 yards and a 38 long. However he did loose a fumble.

4th year OLB veteran Ricky Brown didn't have himself a bad game at all getting four tackles and 6 assists. The only sack for the Raiders was by Defensive Tackle Desmond Bryant and one interception by FS Hiram Eugene and one by CB Chris Johnson.

The Raiders must step up there game to make sure they have all of their players ready for their regular season opener versus the Sandiego Chargers. Giving up 232 rushing yards this game, let's pray they can shut down Darrenn Sproles and Ladanian Tomlinson.
