WWE NXT: Full Preview, Rumors and More for March 11

The Doctor Chris MuellerMar 11, 2015

Welcome to Bleacher Report's preview for this week's episode of NXT on the WWE Network. This is where we take a spoiler-free look at what's in store for the developmental brand's upcoming episode.

Last week saw Sasha Banks retain her Women's Championship against Charlotte in another great match in their series, Solomon Crowe picked up a win over Bull Dempsey, and the tag team champions defeated the pairing of Sawyer Fulton and Angelo Dawkins.

However, the biggest story coming out of the show was the drama that continues to unfold between NXT champion Kevin Owens and Alex Riley.

Riley has been an announcer and backstage personality for quite some time, but The Miz's former ally has been getting more physical as of late, and that will continue Wednesday.

Let's take a look at what's on tap for this week's show.

The Women

It's going to be hard to follow Banks and Charlotte's bout from last week, but Alexa Bliss and Carmella will do their best when they meet in a one-on-one match.

Carmella is newer to the scene than Bliss, but both women are still considered rookies. That being said, they have both displayed great potential during the few matches they have had thus far.

Carmella uses a more ground-based offense, while Bliss likes to use her agility and athleticism from her gymnast days to wrestle a more exciting style.

One thing they have in common is that they are both hungry for success and seem willing to put in the work to reach their goals.

While Bliss is the more experienced, they are both in the same position, which means a victory would go a long way for either woman.

The NXT fans seem to embrace women's wrestling more than the overall WWE Universe, so if Bliss and Carmella put on a great show, even the loser will earn the respect of this passionate crowd.

The Tag Teams

The two men who brought Carmella into NXT will be in action this week when Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady battle Sin Cara and Kalisto.

These are two very different teams in both wrestling style and attitude, but the thing that they have in common is that the fans seem to like them.

Sin Cara and Kalisto are the kind of team you can't help but like because they use exciting maneuvers and remind fans of the cruiserweight division that helped WCW become so popular.

Amore and Cassady, on the other hand, are just too entertaining not to enjoy. They are charismatic, humorous and have demonstrated great chemistry in the ring.

Whoever comes away from this one with the victory could find themselves in the running for a title shot against Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy.

It's always fun to see two babyface entities face each other, and it should be interesting to see which team the crowd gets behind during the match.

The Men

The first singles match of the evening will see Alex Riley step away from his position as a commentator to battle eco-activist CJ Parker.

Riley has been embroiled in a feud with Kevin Owens, which means we can probably expect to see the NXT champion make some kind of appearance.

If Riley is indeed heading toward a showdown with Owens, Parker is likely just an opponent who will be a stepping stone. This means Riley will almost certainly pick up the win here.

However, Owens could always find a way to cost Riley the match. It would advance their current storyline and give Riley even more motivation to go after the champ.

What we really need to focus on is the fact that Riley is returning to action. He proved he was a solid hand during his time with The Miz, but we will have to see if he has any ring rust to shake off.

Seeing as Parker has been without a real feud for quite some time, a win here could be his ticket back to relevance. We will have to wait and see what happens Wednesday.

Lastly, the main event for Wednesday's show will see Hideo Itami take on Tyler Breeze in what is sure to be an outstanding match.

Anyone who has been watching NXT for the past year knows these are two of the most physically gifted wrestlers on the roster. Their styles are different, but they have enough in common to make it a fair fight.

Unfortunately for both men, they haven't had much to do in recent weeks. Breeze and Itami have had somewhat of a minifeud for a little while, but it's never gained any momentum.

They had a good showing at TakeOver: Rival where Itami picked up the win, so this will be Prince Pretty's chance to get a little redemption.

This has the potential to be an outstanding episode for the developmental brand. A lot of talented wrestlers are booked to compete, and we could see an instant classic in the main event.

What are you looking forward to the most on this week's edition of NXT?
