Northeast Ohio Rock 'n" Roller Girls Stomp The Flint City Derby Girls 167-48.

The Northeast Ohio Rock ‘n’ Roller Girls skated their first home bout of the season on Saturday, May 10^th at Pinnacle Sports in Medina Ohio, and won decisively 167 – 48.  A rowdy group was on hand to cheer the lady skaters during their victory over the Flint City Derby Girls.  The outcome was never in doubt.  The only question was how bad….

 

The twenty minute first period ran thirteen jams long.  The team from Akronwent with a five person rotation in the jammer position most of the period.  Scarlet GoDancin’ was the top scorer for NRRG, bringing home twenty-six points in her three jams.  Eighty-SixHer scored 13, as did Phantom fox.  Chrissie B. Hynde brought home 12, and Teeny Houdini scored seven.  The last three ladies each went two jams.  The defense registered an incredible seven jams out of thirteen not allowing Flint City a point.  The score at the end of one was 71-14 in favor of the Northeast Ohio Rock ‘n’ Roller Girls.

 

The second period ended with the NRRG’s holding a 139-29 advantage.  Going with roughly the same five jammers, but rotating in Alexa Clipper alternating with Eighty-SixHer’s rotation, Scarlet GoDancin’ put up another twenty-six.  Phantom fox added sixteen, Chrissie B. Hynde nineteen, and Alexa Clipper tallied a four spot.  The pack was even better this period, shutting out Flint City eleven of the fifteen jams. 

 

The final frame was academic, but the defense kept on the pressure, putting up eight more goose egg jams out of the fourteen.  The NRRG’s tinkered with the Jammer position a bit in this period, even passing the star to the Pivot in one of the Jams. 

 

Game notes : Scarlett GoDancin’ registered the most points for NRRG at 57.  Agent Skullie at pivot and leading the pack of Brown Eyed Bomber, EightySixHer, and Amber Vendetta looked to be the most successful defensive combination, although it was really hard to tell since all the defensive combinations did a fantastic job.  The most points the defense gave up all evening in a single jam was eight; that coming late in the third period. 

 

The Northeast Ohio Rock ‘n’ Roller Girls return to action Saturday June 7^th against cross town rival Cleveland, known as the Burning River Roller Girls.  Bout time is 6:00 PM with doors opening at 5:00.
