Seth Rollins Apologizes After Nude Photos Leak of Zahra and WWE Star on Twitter
WWE Superstar Seth Rollins was the subject of social media controversy Monday night, and the current holder of the Money in the Bank contract has broken his silence on the bizarre situation.
According to Jason Silverstein of the New York Daily News, Rollins' Twitter account was apparently hacked just as Monday Night Raw went on the air. What resulted was a nude photo of NXT signee Zahra Schreiber being leaked via social media.
As if that wasn't bad enough, nude photos of Rollins were subsequently released by his fiancee, Leighla Schultz. She ultimately took responsibility for them on Twitter and seemingly made some negative posts about Rollins on her Facebook account as well, per Silverstein.
In the wake of the nude photo scandal, Rollins tweeted an apology just after 12 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning:
This is certainly a nightmarish situation for both Rollins and WWE. With WWE's PG, family-oriented product being largely geared toward young fans, it would be viewed as a worst-case scenario for the company.
Rollins is one of the top stars on the roster, and every indication is that the 28-year-old Iowa native will win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the near future.
What once seemed like a foregone conclusion may be in doubt now, however. WWE has a tough decision on its hands, and Rollins' standing in the company could conceivably be hanging in the balance.
