Foles Comments on Trade Rumors
Thursday, Jan. 29
Howard Eskin of 94 WIP in Philadelphia passed along comments from Nick Foles on the trade rumors surrounding him:
Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com would later pass on more comments from Foles on the situation:
""Yeah you hear about it," Foles said in between doing paid appearances at Super Bowl XLIX. "You are going to hear about it every single year. That's just part of it. The main word is 'rumor.' You can't put too much into it....I plan on being in Philly."

"I only listen to (head coach) Chip Kelly. That's what is most important. He is the one that will make the decision," Foles said. "Right now all I am going to do is work because I plan on being back in Philadelphia and playing with my team. That's all I ever thought. So that is what I plan on doing and I'm not looking at it any other way."

Foles Linked With Trades to Several Teams
Monday, Jan. 26
With buzz continuing to swirl about Chip Kelly's desire for a reunion with his college quarterback, Marcus Mariota, speculation around NFL circles has begun about incumbent starter Nick Foles as a result.
Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com reported "several teams" would have interest in trading for the 2014 Pro Bowler if the Eagles are willing to make a trade. Shorr-Parks in particular cited the St. Louis Rams as a team with a strong interest.
The Rams are in need of a long-term option under center but aren't in any position to select Jameis Winston or Mariota, the draft's two top quarterbacks, at No. 10 without trading up. Adding Foles to the mix would also create a potential immediate playoff contender for head coach Jeff Fisher, whose job may not survive a rebuild around a rookie after three losing seasons.
The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans are also potential suitors. Houston, like St. Louis, owns a competitive defense, but it lacks even league-average play at quarterback and was too good in 2014 to land a franchise signal-caller without a bold move. Tennessee owns the No. 2 pick and is considered a suitor for both Mariota and Winston.
Foles, a former third-round pick who came out of nowhere to lead Philadelphia to a 10-6 season in 2013, suffered a major regression this season. His touchdown rate fell by half, while his interception rate went through an exponential growth.
The Eagles were 6-2 in games Foles started and 4-4 in contests after Mark Sanchez took the reins, but their offense showed no serious signs of attrition. Football Outsiders' premium database ranked Philadelphia as the 16th-best offense through the first eight games and the 14th-best in the second half. The lack of attrition when Sanchez entered the lineup is perhaps the best argument for the Eagles to move on.
