Teletovic Comments on Status, Plans to Reach Out to Bosh

Monday, March 2

Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News revealed that Teletovic said "he'll be ready to play in six months." Bondy added that doctors are "80 percent sure [the] clot originated from hip pointer injury sustained vs Cavs."

Newsday's Rod Boone reported, "Mirza said he plans on reaching out to Chris Bosh to tell him he has nothing to worry about."

Bosh is currently out for the season due to blood clots on one of his lungs.

Teletovic Released From Hospital

Wednesday, Jan. 28

The Nets announced an update on Teletovic's status, courtesy of Dr. Michael Farber:

"

Mirza was diagnosed with pulmonary embolus on January 22 and started on the appropriate medications for this condition. Diagnostic testing was arranged and he was then observed until testing showed that he reached the expected therapeutic range. We are pleased to say that he reports no symptoms at this time and that he will be discharged to return home today."

"This was a true collaborative effort between our medical team and training staff and the local physicians at the Los Angeles hospital where Mirza was treated. I am really pleased with how Mirza has progressed. We will evaluate him upon return, personally review all of the testing he had done, and arrange for further testing if necessary."

"I expect Mirza to make a full recovery."

Teletovic Done for Season With Blood Clots

Friday, Jan. 23

Forward Mirza Teletovic has been an important contributor for the Brooklyn Nets this season, but they will be without the Bosnian big man for the remainder of the campaign.

According to Tim Bontemps of the New York Post, Teletovic will be out of action after it was discovered he has multiple blood clots in his lungs:

Per NBA.com, Teletovic will remain hospitalized, and he will be administered blood thinners in order to eliminate the clots.

This news comes a day after Teletovic was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after complaining of shortness of breath during Brooklyn's Thursday night game against the Clippers, according to NBA on ESPN:

Teletovic was in the midst of his third NBA season, and it was arguably his best. He averaged 8.5 points and nearly five rebounds per game in 40 contests, most of which featured him coming off the bench.

Blood clots are always quite worrisome, so there is no question that the focus now shifts toward Teletovic getting healthy. Bontemps is among those who are hoping for a speedy recovery:

While it is known that Teletovic won't play again in the 2014-15 season, his status is somewhat up in the air beyond that.

With that said, everyone close to the Nets organization is undoubtedly hopeful that the 29-year-old marksman will be back to full health and on the court as soon as possible.
