Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun provided contract details for Trestman:
Clifton Brown of CSN Baltimore analyzed the hire for Baltimore in the following video:
Trestman's time as a head coach with the Chicago Bears produced underwhelming results, as he led the team to a 13-19 overall record and was fired after just two seasons at the helm.
But his ability to run an offense has never been the problem. With him as offensive coordinator, the 1995 San Francisco 49ers finished first in the NFL in points, the 2002 Oakland Raiders finished second, and the 2013 Bears finished second, per Pro-Football-Reference.com.
Former NFL scout John Middlekauff applauded the hire for Baltimore:
Although Jay Cutler's 2014 struggles are at the front of most fans' memories, Trestman has typically shown an ability to get the most out of his quarterbacks. Rich Gannon won the 2002 MVP under his guidance, while then-34-year-old Josh McCown played like a star when pushed into action last year in Chicago.

It will be interesting to see the effect Trestman has on veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who has shown glimpses of brilliance but hasn't been consistent.
While the Ravens' new offensive scheme is going to look very different from Kubiak's zone-blocking scheme, this is a nice hire that should keep a talented offense clicking.
