Rob Gronkowski Helps Deliver Furniture to Single Mom

Assuming the name "Bob," Rob Gronkowski recently went about the business of delivering furniture and surprising the heck out of unsuspecting people in New England.

Sporting News' Jordan Greer reports that the New England Patriots tight end partnered with Eastern Bank and moving company College Bound Movers to brighten one family's day with a free couch.

Gronkowski's involvement included two layers of deception, the first being the surprising of College Bound Movers CEO Edward Smith, who had no idea who'd be helping him move the couch out of the furniture store.

Assuming his role as "Bob" the stock-room boy, Gronkowski met Smith at the furniture store. He wore a shirt emblazoned with "BOB" to complete the character. Smith somehow wasn't fooled.

From there, Gronkowski and Smith went to deliver the couch to Carol, a single mother in the area. Carol saw Gronkowski at her door and promptly lost her marbles.

"Oh, s--t!" Carol shouted.

"This is Rob," Smith said, introducing Gronkowski.

Ever the method actor, Gronkowski refused to break character.

"I'm Bob!" Gronkowski said.

Gronkowski helped as much as he could with the couch (Bill Belichick would murder him if he strained his back before the AFC Championship Game), but he really put in work with Carol's girls. One daughter needed a hand with her homework, and if there's anything Gronk is better at than moving things with brute force, it's parsing out the puzzles of the mind.

Here's Rob, hard at work on a young lady's assignment.

Finally, Gronkowski offered his approval of the couch, now fully assembled in the living room.

"This thing's fresh!" Gronkowski said.
