Gase Emerging as Hot Candidate for Top HC, OC Positions
Wednesday, Jan. 14
Gase was reportedly in talks with general manager and vice president John Elway about replacing John Fox, who parted ways with the team. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport and The Denver Post's Mike Klis reported the latest details at the time:
Gase has been with the Broncos the past six seasons, serving as the team's offensive coordinator for the last two. During those two years, Denver has finished first and second in scoring offense, putting up record-setting numbers in 2013.
Of course, it helps to have Manning, Demaryius Thomas and the Broncos' offensive weaponry, but the 36-year-old has proven himself as one of the best offensive coaches in the game.
Mike Martz, the man behind the St. Louis Rams' "Greatest Show on Turf," recently raved about Gase, via The MMQB's Robert Klemko:
"That, by design, is outstanding. It’d be easy to put him on the wing, but Adam knows the defense’s rules. All the little details work out really well. Very few people do this.
They’ve got good players, and he knows what to do with them. He puts guys in position to have success. It would be easy to do the same stuff over and over, but each week he’s going to create.
"
Gase's success with the Broncos quickly made him one of the most sought-after head coaching candidates in the NFL.
