Davante Adams Injury: Updates on Packers Star's Ankle and Return

Timothy RappSep 20, 2015

Davante Adams suffered an ankle injury against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2 but will be active for the Week 3 game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.

Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported Adams took part in individual drills Sept. 25 for the first time since last week's game. "I wouldn't even say it's an injury, it's just something that hurts right now," Adams said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com on Sept. 25. "Nothing catastrophic."

Adams wrestled away the No. 3 receiver position from Jarrett Boykin last year and never looked back, finishing the regular season with 38 receptions for 446 yards and three touchdowns.

While Adams didn't shine in the same way some of the other wide receivers in the 2014 draft class did—namely Odell Beckham Jr., Mike Evans, Kelvin Benjamin, Sammy Watkins and Jarvis Landry—he showed signs of being a nice fit in Green Bay's offense.

Adams impressed in training camp before this season, per the Associated Press' Genaro C. Armas (via Yahoo Sports), indicating he might be primed to take another step forward for the Packers this season. And when Green Bay lost Jordy Nelson for the season to an ACL tear, Adams assumed a larger role in the offense and became a key target for Aaron Rodgers.
