PSG Transfer News: Moussa Sissoko in Advanced Talks According to Latest Rumours
Paris-Saint Germain are in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, writes Martin Mosnier of Eurosport.fr.
Sissoko has scored eight goals in 65 Premier League appearances, per WhoScored.com, since joining Newcastle from Toulouse two years ago to establish himself as a key player.

He recently confirmed to L’Equipe (h/t Evening Chronicle) that he would be happy to stay at St James’ Park for the rest of the season:
"I’m ambitious. My aim is to play in the best clubs, play the Champions League, win trophies. But today, I’m a Magpie and I’m very happy. There haven’t been any offers. So I’ll be at Newcastle until the end of the season. After that, we’ll see."
However, Newcastle now seem to be facing a fight to keep hold of the France international in the January transfer window.
Arsenal were recently linked with a £9million approach for Sissoko, per Martin Hardy of The Independent. Now it seems that PSG have stepped to the front of the queue to sign him.
According to Mosnier, Sissoko could cost around €20million (£15.7m). The stumbling block for PSG is that the French champions need to sell before they can buy.

One means of reducing the fee, and removing a player from the wage bill at the same time, would be for PSG to allow Yohan Cabaye to return to Newcastle, per Neil Moxley and Alan Oliver of the Sunday People.
Cabaye has not been a roaring success in Ligue 1 since joining PSG 12 months ago. He has scored one goal and created two assists in 27 appearances, per WhoScored.com.
Jonathan Johnson certainly thinks that PSG should be wary about signing Sissoko on the back of Cabaye’s limited impact at the Parc des Princes.
Selling Sissoko midway through the season would certainly be a big call for Newcastle owner Mike Ashley to make. But, as he proved with Cabaye last year, it is not something he is afraid to do.
With Sissoko having been one of Newcastle’s most influential players in the first half of the season, his departure would certainly be felt, but that blow could be softened by the return of Cabaye.
As for PSG, there is no guarantee that Sissoko will considerably improve Laurent Blanc’s team, despite the pace and power he can provide.
Even though Lucas Moura is the only PSG midfielder to have scored more than once in Ligue 1 this season, Sissoko is not a regular scorer after only contributing two goals to Newcastle's Premier League campaign.
He would offer a better attacking thrust than someone like Thiago Motta, but he is perhaps not on the same technical level as players like Moura, Javier Pastore and Marco Verratti.
