Doug Marrone to Jaguars: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction
After leaving the Buffalo Bills in late December following two seasons as head coach, Doug Marrone has found a new job. The former Syracuse coach will be joining the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Jaguars confirmed the news via their Twitter account Tuesday that Marrone and the franchise reached an agreement on a deal that will make him their assistant head coach. Marrone will also be in charge of the team's offensive line:

Ryan O'Halloran of the The Florida Times-Union was the first to report news of an agreement.
Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports also reported that Marrone interviewed for the head coaching job in San Francisco before joining the Jaguars, while O'Halloran provided some clarification on Marrone's previous interview with Jacksonville:
Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reported on what Marrone's contract and arrival mean for current offensive line coach George Yarno:
Marrone's surprise departure from Buffalo was confusing at first glance. He was an unconventional hire for the Bills two years ago but found success in 2014 with an outstanding defense and promising young talent like wide receiver Sammy Watkins.
Buffalo's nine wins this season were its most since 2004, though the team missed out on the playoffs for the 15th consecutive season. Because of that success, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweeted in late December that Marrone would be one of the most coveted coaches available:
Rapoport also noted that Marrone would have received a hefty raise from the Bills if he had stayed with the franchise:
While the surface view of Marrone is that he hasn't won anything in the NFL, there's little doubt that he's become one of the hottest commodities around the league. Winning in Buffalo hasn't been easy for anyone, yet he was able to be part of a rebuilding effort that moved quicker than anyone expected.
He didn't get the head coaching job many expected him to get, but Marrone remains the kind of coach capable of helping turn the Jaguars' fortunes around after years of ineptitude.
