Hamburg Star Maxi Beister Invents the 'Snaxcup,' Secures European Patent
Ever been stuck at the cinema trying to juggle food with one hand and a drink with the other?
Well, Hamburg midfielder Maximilian Beister has been, but do you think he just shrugged his shoulders and accepted such an awkward arrangement?
Oh no! Beister decided to use some of that celebrated German innovation to do something about it.
Beister got to work and invented the "Snaxcup" in between representing his club in the Bundesliga and has now secured the European patent for his genius invention.
So what exactly is the Snaxcup? Well according to the Hamburger Morgenpost, as per Who Ate All The Pies:
"The Snaxcup was primarily designed for use at the cinema, so both a “plate” of food and a drink could be held in one hand.
Available in different sizes, the disposable plastic container consists of a cup (which also serves as a handle) with a bowl for food attached on top. The drink is then quaffable through a straw…
Beister first conceived the idea three years ago when struggling to produce his movie ticket as his hands were full of snacks and now, together with two of his pals, he’s formed a company named “Future Cup” and is close to putting it into production.
"
Beister is a handy footballer who has represented Germany at U21 level, but it looks like the 24-year-old is already planning for life after football.
Don't be surprised to see him on the next season of Dragon's Den or Shark Tank.
