WWE Superstar Power Rankings for 11/24/2014, WWE Survivor Series 2014 Edition
The crowd at WWE Survivor Series 2014 is serenading Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at the moment these WWE Superstar Power Rankings are being written. The Authority is now out of power as Team Cena, with a huge assist from The Icon Sting, defeated Team Authority in a traditional Survivor Series match, with Dolph Ziggler getting three eliminations, including the final pinfall on Seth Rollins.
But that wasn't the only traditional Survivor Series match of the evening. Paige and Alicia Fox each led a team of four Divas. Team Fox won via a clean sweep, with each member pinning a member of Team Paige. We also saw Bray Wyatt face Dean Ambrose as well as a Fatal 4-Way tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championships.
And all that was just at Survivor Series. It was an action-packed week in WWE. We'll get into all this past week's action, including Survivor Series, in the following slides. Before we move on, though, please read how these rankings work.
Holding a championship, being a No. 1 contender or holding a Money in the Bank briefcase counts for much of a wrestler's ranking, and these honors are therefore the most heavily weighted components in the rankings. If a wrestler is deemed to be level with another wrestler, holding a title will be a tiebreaker.
Wins and losses account for the bulk of the week-to-week movement—wins and losses are, after championships, the most important component of the rankings. The quality of a wrestler's opponents and whether they are ranked is considered in the week-to-week movement.
Getting the better of someone—like beating someone down—also counts, though not as much as wins or losses. Being over with the fans is considered but not heavily weighted in the ranking decisions. Pay-per-view performances take on added importance.
Only the top 10 wrestlers are ranked. Wrestlers on the Watch List were considered for top-10 status but were ultimately nixed. They are unranked, and their listing is in no particular order.
Generally speaking, these rankings do not break kayfabe, though any major non-storyline information (serious injury, WWE Wellness Policy violations, suspensions, legitimate hirings, firings, contract information, "sabbaticals," etc.) may be taken into consideration, especially if WWE confirms them publicly.
Domestic and international WWE live events are not included in these rankings unless WWE incorporates them into television storylines. Nothing that could be explicitly considered a spoiler is included unless WWE acknowledges it as well.
In short, all WWE shows, televised or digitally distributed, as well as anything from WWE.com, the WWE App, the WWE Network and any WWE or Superstar social media accounts that don't break kayfabe may be taken into consideration for these rankings. This includes but is not limited to WWE Raw, WWE SmackDown, WWE Main Event, WWE Superstars, NXT and any WWE pay-per-view.
Watch List
1 of 11
AJ Lee
AJ Lee got what WWE is calling a "kiss of death" from Brie Bella prior to her WWE Divas Championship match. AJ ended up losing her title in the same manner and in about the same amount of time as her onetime-boyfriend Daniel Bryan did. Can she recover from this shocking loss and regain her title?
Brock Lesnar
No Lesnar once again this week. John Cena technically has a title shot guaranteed, as does Seth Rollins. Will Lesnar return to WWE programming in time for TLC?
Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt picked up a win over Jack Swagger on Main Event, and then on SmackDown, he interrupted Dean Ambrose, telling him that they could have ruled the world together. He spoke from a prison cell, and Dean Ambrose was not pleased. At Survivor Series, he technically won his match, as he goaded Ambrose into attacking him with a chair. Ambrose then destroyed him, but was this Wyatt's plan?
10. Nikki Bella
2 of 11
Previous Rank: Unranked
Movement: Outta Nowhere!
Nikki Bella leveraged her control of Brie Bella to become the newest WWE Divas champion. It's her second reign; her first came in April of 2012 and lasted all of six days.
Amazingly, Brie Bella seemed excited to see her sister win. Was Brie playing us all? Or does she have other motives? Perhaps we'll find out this week on Raw.
9. Tyson Kidd
3 of 11Previous Rank: 10
Movement: Up 1
Tyson Kidd keeps picking up wins, though sooner rather than later he'll need to take a step up in competition if he wants to keep moving up the rankings. But for now, the wins just keep coming.
He got two more wins this week. First, he defeated Adam Rose on Raw. Then he teamed with Natalya against Adam Rose and The Bunny on main Event. He won again, though he used a cheap shot while the referee was distracted. Natalya wasn't happy, but that never seems to bother Kidd. Can he keep up his winning ways?
8. The Miz and Damien Mizdow
4 of 11
Previous Rank: Unranked
Movement: Outta Nowhere!
The Miz and Damien Mizdow defeated three other teams to win their first WWE Tag Team Championship together. This is The Miz's sixth reign as a tag team champion.
Earlier in the week, they teamed with Gold and Stardust in a win over The Usos and Los Matadores but then lost to Los Matadores on SmackDown. Then they picked up gold at Survivor Series, as Mizdow pinned Goldust for the win.
Will The Miz and Damien Mizdow be able to hang on to the championships for an extended period of time?
7. Luke Harper
5 of 11Previous Rank: Unranked
Movement: Outta Nowhere!
Luke Harper got a surprise shot at Dolph Ziggler's Intercontinental Championship and made the most of it. Thus, Harper is the new Intercontinental champion.
At Survivor Series, he fought for Team Authority, picking up one elimination. That elimination was Erick Rowan, his onetime partner in The Wyatt Family.
Harper was eliminated by Dolph Ziggler, and his team ultimately lost. But now that Harper has the IC title, he's primed to be a force in WWE for some time. When will he face Ziggler in the rematch?
6. Ryback
6 of 11Previous Rank: 7
Movement: Up 1
Ryback claimed to be on "Team Ryback," but he ultimately cast his lots with Team Cena. It was risky, but it paid off in the end. On Raw, he helped Team Cena drive The Authority off when the contract signing broke down into a brawl (when do they not?).
Then he got a win the hard way on SmackDown, teaming with Big Show and winning via disqualification as a result of Team Authority destroying them. Heading into Survivor Series, Ryback had every reason to want to get his hands on Team Authority.
John Cena had called him the most sought-after free agent in WWE at the time, but he didn't really play much of a role in the actual Survivor Series match. He didn't have a single elimination and was the first member of Team Cena eliminated when he was pinned by Rusev. He must not have been that hungry...
5. Dean Ambrose
7 of 11
Previous Rank: 5
Movement: None
Dean Ambrose finally faced off with Bray Wyatt this week at Survivor Series. He lost, but The Lunatic Fringe ended up destroying Bray Wyatt. Wyatt begged Ambrose to hit him with a chair, and after thinking about it, Ambrose did it.
And then he put Wyatt through a table. Ambrose absolutely destroyed him, leaving Wyatt in a pile of weapons as Ambrose posed high above the ring on a ladder.
Almost immediately, WWE.com reported that the two would meet in a TLC (Tables, Ladders and Chairs) match at the TLC pay-per-view. How will this war end?
4. Rusev
8 of 11Previous Rank: Rusev
Movement: Down 1
Rusev Joined Team Authority two weeks ago and doesn't have much to show for it. He defeated Dolph Ziggler on SmackDown, but Survivor Series didn't go as planned for Lana and Rusev. He was essentially eliminated by Dolph Ziggler when The Showoff moved out of the way at the last moment as Rusev dove head first through the Spanish announce table.
He was counted out, so he still has yet to be pinned or submitted in WWE. And with Sheamus apparently out of action for an unknown amount of time, who will step up to challenge him for his United States Championship?
3. Seth Rollins
9 of 11Previous Rank: 1
Movement: Down 2
Seth Rollins had a bad week that culminated in his team losing at Survivor Series. He was the team captain of Team Authority, and when he and the rest of his team destroyed Team Cena on SmackDown, it looked like perhaps he would be able to lead his team to victory.
It was not to be, though. Even with Big Show betraying his team and Rollins' constant hit-and-run attacks on his opponents, it came down to Rollins and Ziggler. Dolph Ziggler had Mr. Money in the Bank pinned several times, but Triple H saved Rollins.
That all ended when Sting—yes, Sting—debuted and put an end to Triple H's interferences and pulled Ziggler on top of Rollins for the pin. He still has a guaranteed shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. But with The Authority gone, life just got a lot harder for Rollins.
2. Dolph Ziggler
10 of 11Previous Rank: 4
Movement: Up 2
It's not every week that someone can lose their title, lose another match, be threatened with termination and still move up two spots. But that's what happened this week with Dolph Ziggler. He lost his Intercontinental Championship to Luke Harper on Raw and then lost to Rusev on SmackDown.
At Survivor Series, however, he more than redeemed himself. He technically got three eliminations, with a fourth as a direct result of his actions. First was Rusev's count-out after Ziggler narrowly avoided being crushed by him as Rusev went crashing through the Spanish announce table.
Then, as the final man standing from Team Cena, he pinned Kane after a Zig Zag, rolled up Luke Harper and then pinned Seth Rollins with an assist from Sting. If anyone came out of Survivor Series looking great, it was Ziggler. Can he translate this success into greater things? And when will he get his rematch for the IC title?
1. John Cena
11 of 11Previous Rank: 2
Movement: Up 1
The only reason John Cena is No. 1 this week is because Dolph Ziggler lost his title to Luke Harper. Otherwise, Cena would have stayed put in the No. 2 spot. He helped clear the ring on Raw when Team Authority and Team Cena came to blows, but Team Authority returned the favor on his team on SmackDown.
But in Cena's only match this week, Team Cena got the win over Team Authority. He was eliminated by Seth Rollins after Big Show betrayed him and hit him with a KO punch. But his team won. He now has the power, per Mr. McMahon, to determine, when, if ever, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon can return to control wrestling operations in WWE.
He's the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, though that doesn't mean much as long as Lesnar is gone. Perhaps TLC will be his next shot at the title.
