WWE Superstar Power Rankings for 11/10/2014
As WWE Survivor Series gets closer and closer, there's a new No. 1 atop the WWE Superstar Power Rankings. This week in WWE, we saw WWE CEO Vince McMahon return to announce the stipulation that if Team Authority loses at Survivor Series, they will lose power.
We also saw Seth Rollins and Randy Orton get their hands on each other, with Orton coming out the loser big time. And Adam Rose seems to have had enough of the bunny.
As far as Survivor Series goes, there's still only one announced match, the Traditional Survivor Series match, and thus far only John Cena, Dolph Ziggler and Seth Rollins have declared their intentions to compete in the match. After the beating Orton took, if he does participate, you'd have to imagine he'd be on Team Cena.
We'll get into all this past week's action in the following slides. Before we move on, though, please read how these rankings work.
Holding a championship, being a No. 1 contender or holding a Money in the Bank briefcase counts for much of a wrestler's ranking, and these honors are therefore the most heavily weighted components in the rankings. If a wrestler is deemed to be level with another wrestler, holding a title will be a tiebreaker.
Wins and losses account for the bulk of the week-to-week movement—wins and losses are, after championships, the most important component of the rankings. The quality of a wrestler's opponents and whether they are ranked is considered in the week-to-week movement.
Getting the better of someone—like beating someone down—also counts, though not as much as wins or losses. Being over with the fans is considered but not heavily weighted in the ranking decisions. Pay-per-view performances take on added importance.
Only the top 10 wrestlers are ranked. Wrestlers on the Watch List were considered for top-10 status but were ultimately nixed. They are unranked, and their listing is in no particular order.
Generally speaking, these rankings do not break kayfabe, though any major non-storyline information (serious injury, WWE Wellness Policy violations, legitimate hirings, firings, contract information, "sabbaticals" etc.) may be taken into consideration, especially if WWE confirms them publicly. Nothing that could be explicitly considered a spoiler is included unless WWE acknowledges it as well.
All WWE shows, televised or digitally distributed, as well as anything from WWE.com, the WWE App, the WWE Network and any WWE or Superstar social media accounts that don't break kayfabe may be taken into consideration for these rankings. This includes but is not limited to WWE Raw, WWE SmackDown, WWE Main Event, WWE Superstars, NXT and any WWE pay-per-view.
Watch List
1 of 11Randy Orton
Randy Orton lost to Seth Rollins on Raw after begging Triple H for the match. He then attacked Rollins but paid dearly for it. He was Curb Stomped by Rollins and is now out indefinitely. That could mean anything, so when Orton might return is a mystery. Will he be back in time for Survivor Series?
Tyson Kidd
Tyson Kidd is quietly picking up some impressive wins on main-roster shows. This week, he defeated then-United States champion Sheamus by count-out, then defeated NXT star Sami Zayn on main Event via pin. Back in NXT, he got a win over Dash Wilder. He capped off his week on commentary, watching as Natalya would lose to Summer Rae, whom he was flirting with earlier on the show. Can he sustain this momentum?
Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt stepped into the ring once this week, defeating Sin Cara via pin on Main Event. He continues to play mind games with Dean Ambrose. But is Ambrose the right target for mind games? He's crazy enough to not care what Wyatt has to say. It seems, though, Wyatt struck a chord with the mention of Ambrose's father. Perhaps that's Wyatt's best line of attack.
10. Ryback
2 of 11Previous Rank: Watch List
Movement: Into Top 10
Ryback made a big return a couple of weeks ago and has quickly re-established himself as a hard-hitting competitor who can put away opponents easily with big power moves. And this past week, he defeated Titus O'Neil on Raw and Cesaro on SmackDown.
O'Neil may not be a top competitor, but Cesaro is one of the toughest men in WWE right now. The fact that Cesaro was able to put away Cesaro so quickly speaks volumes about Ryback's ability. What's important now is where he goes once he settles in. Both Team Cena and Team Authority are recruiting, and Kane looked interested in Ryback's services.
He's quickly become a hot commodity. But which side will he choose, if any?
9. Brock Lesnar
3 of 11
Previous Rank: 8
Movement: Down 1
There were no appearances by WWE World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar or his advocate Paul Heyman. He doesn't appear to have any plans to be at Survivor Series, and the next pay-per-view we see him at might be WWE TLC 2014.
People are lining up to face Lesnar, with Cena owed a title match and Seth Rollins with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Neither of those things matter much with Lesnar gone, but when he does return, he'll likely have his hands full.
8. Sheamus
4 of 11Previous Rank: 5
Movement: Down 3
Saying Sheamus had a bad Raw might be a bit of an understatement. He lost via count-out in a non-title match to Tyson Kidd, who's as much an NXT star as he is a WWE star. Not a great way to start the evening.
But on a WWE Network special immediately after Raw, he lost the United States Championship to Rusev. It was a hard-hitting match, and Sheamus never gave up. He got locked in the Accolade and passed out from the pressure of the hold.
Sheamus will surely get a rematch, but does he stand a chance? Does anyone?
7. Gold & Stardust
5 of 11Previous Rank: 10
Movement: Up 3
WWE tag team champions Gold & Stardust could not have looked worse early in the week. On Raw, Stardust lost to Fernando of Los Matadores. Then Stardust lost again on Main Event, this time to Jey Uso. All that would be erased on Friday, though.
The Usos had earned a shot at the tag titles inside a steel cage on SmackDown, and the match was a good one. They went back and forth with The Usos inside the cage, but after an incredible sequence, Stardust got the pin to retain the titles.
With a Matador getting a win over Stardust, there's now two possible teams that could challenge going forward. Who will get the shot at Survivor Series?
6. AJ Lee
6 of 11Previous Rank: 7
Movement: Up 1
AJ Lee moves up a spot this week by default, since AJ had no matches and Sheamus fell to No. 8 in the rankings. She did get a couple of messages from her challenger, Nikki Bella, though.
Nikki ordered Brie to slap AJ, and AJ chased off Nikki in response. On SmackDown, she was attacked by Nikki again, who used Brie as distraction backstage. The WWE Divas champion needs to get back on track with a win after a less-than-stellar week.
5. Dolph Ziggler
7 of 11Previous Rank: 6
Movement: Up 1
Dolph Ziggler is aligning himself with Team Cena and is proving he can hang with the best of the best. On Raw, after defying The Authority and turning them down when they offered him a spot on their team, he went blow for blow with Seth Rollins before Joey Mercury, Jamie Noble and Kane involved themselves in the match. The match was ruled a no-contest.
On SmackDown, Ziggler, who was set to be punished for Monday, faced Kane inside a steel cage. He won, and Kane was irate when Ziggler escaped the cage. The Intercontinental champion may regret his decision to defy The Authority, unless he can help lead his team to victory.
4. Dean Ambrose
8 of 11Previous Rank: 2
Movement: Down 2
Dean Ambrose drops two spots this week, but not because he did anything wrong. He was simply leapfrogged by Rusev and Seth Rollins. On Raw, he defeated Cesaro as Bray Wyatt, his new rival, looked on.
Then on SmackDown, he appeared on Christian's Peep Show, which was interrupted by Bray Wyatt. Ambrose was not too pleased with Wyatt bringing up his father, which may be Ambrose's only weak spot.
Otherwise, Ambrose doesn't seem fazed by Wyatt's antics. But will his relationship with his father be his undoing? Will he let Bray Wyatt get under his skin?
3. Rusev
9 of 11Previous Rank: 4
Movement: Up 1
Rusev has slowly and steadily climbed up the rankings, and now that he's won the United States Championship, he's cemented himself as one of the top Superstars in WWE. With the help of Lana, he's conquered everything in his path.
Now he'll surely face Sheamus in a rematch, but after that, the sky's the limit. He's been offered a spot on Team Authority, and it may not be too long before he's main-eventing pay-per-views as a champion, be that U.S. champion or otherwise.
Is there anyone on the WWE roster who can stop Rusev at this point?
2. John Cena
10 of 11Previous Rank: 1
Movement: Down 1
John Cena did not appear on WWE TV this week. That, coupled with Seth Rollins' performance, dropped him out of the top spot.
Cena is the captain of his own Survivor Series team and picked up Dolph Ziggler as his first recruit. Who else will join John Cena against The Authority?
1. Seth Rollins
11 of 11Previous Rank: 3
Movement: Up 2
Seth Rollins claims the top spot this week after sending a big message to Randy Orton and picking up a huge win. On Raw, he was RKO'd by Orton during his match with Dolph Ziggler, ending the match in a no-contest.
But Rollins would face Orton later that night, and he defeated him in about as close a match as these two could have. Rollins got the win, though, and showed why he's the top Superstar in the eyes of The Authority.
Orton attacked Rollins after the match, but with the help of The Authority, the Architect of The Shield turned the tables on Orton and Curb Stomped him out of action indefinitely. If there were ever any questions in regard to Rollins' dominance, they've been answered. He has shown that he's the future. And with a guaranteed WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot, that future could come sooner rather than later.
