Trade Deadline Moves Without Making a Move

The Best Trade Deadline Move

With the Los Angeles Dodgers sporting the best record in baseball, they might be looking to make a couple trade deadline moves to strengthen their roster for the playoff and World Series push.

Starting pitching is a possible need and maybe another bat off the bench.  However, the best addition they will make will not cost them anything: Manny Ramirez.

Ramirez will be eligible to rejoin the Dodgers on July 3, after his 50-game suspension for PED will have expired. The Dodgers will send him down for a few games of minor league fine tuning to get his swing back. It'll be a great way to add a few dollars to their minor league teams ticket gate receipts.

Then sometime in July, Manny will be back much to the distaste of fellow National League teams, not to mention NL West contenders.

There are contenders, right?

Yes, without making one trade, the Dodgers will fortify their lineup and perhaps have a team that will make it back to the World Series for the first time since 1988.

Manny will again get to be Manny in Chavez Revine.  The fans will sport their collective dreadlocks and all will be well in the land of glitter and movie stars.

Don't think for a minute that he will not be focused.  Manny is without question one of the best pure hitters on the planet.  He will be out to prove that his suspension for PED's was legitimate had nothing to do with his performance on the field.

Fellow NL teams beware, he's on the way back and he's mad, and don't forget, he is real good.
