Jason Marquis Leaving Tops the Cubs Current Dumb Moves List
The Chicago Cubs organization has made many "dumb moves" in my lifetime—Soriano as a leadoff hitter and Fontenot as an everyday player are a couple of the more recent ones.
However, one we knew was inevitable was letting Jason Marquis get away.
Now, on the surface, it didn't look like it would hurt all that much, but guess what?

Marquis, as I type this, is leading the National League in the win column with eight. Jason Marquis, not Lincecum or Peavy, not Santana or Danny Haren.

It was bound to happen, he leaves the Cubs and all of a sudden has a great season. Now, his ERA isn't gonna knock you over at 3.98, but did he even have eight wins in a season with the Cubs?
His highest win total with the Cubs was 12 in 2007—he could have 12 wins by the All-Star break this year.
Oh well, such is life as a Cubs fan!
