Bobby Lashley! What Kind of Choke was That?

Katie bar the door!

Mike Cook must have made the " Dominater" Bobby Lashley very angry by entering the ring wearing a WWE styled mask.

As Bobby said later, "All these guys just want to make fun of professional wrestlers."

Boy not this old lady!

I have never seen so many muscles packed on a body as those Lashley displayed during his ultra-brief period in the ring at the MFC "Hard Knocks" event tonight (Friday).

Big John McCarthy really had to back peddal to get out of the way as the two big guys charged into each other like fighting bulls!

For some reason the space looked much smaller with Cook and Lashley sprawled out across the mat.

Bobby initially had a guillotine choke hold on Cook, but appeared to quickly give it up in favor of a straight out choke pressing Cook's neck to the floor and causing him to flip around "like bacon frying in the pan" as Bas Ruten or his fellow commentator marveled.

The ring announcer stated that Bobby won with a "rear naked choke" which is a very unusual thing to state since both men were positioned in a head to head position with Lashley's head above as he used his chest to push the neck and upper back of his opponent down on his arms as they tightened on Cook's neck.

Since a National Geographic program proved that Fedor Emilianenko can apply 500 pounds of pressure when choking out a man with an actual rear naked choke, I wonder how much pressure the "Dominator" was applying?

I was trying to swallow a sip of tea as the battle began and froze with it unswallowed for the 10 or so seconds before Big John was pulling Bobby off of Mike so he could breathe again.

If Cook had been Kurt Angle, he would have had another broken neck for sure. I am certainly glad it wasn't Kurt.

Now Lashley is 3-0 and facing big Bob Sapp in his next match.

It was an amazing display that I am sure Brock Lesnar would like to duplicate on Frank Mir when they meet for the Heavyweight Title.

Hopefully Mir was watching and will keep this in mind when fight time rolls around.

As impressed as I have been with the determination Bobby is using to improve himself "before" joining the UFC, unlike Brock who had help, I am hoping that Dana will pay attention and for once change his mind about something and let Bobby into the organization.

However Dana's proclamation that "nobody could do what Brock Lesnar had done," could be proved wrong, so no doubt Dana will hold his ground praying that his quarter- million-dollar-investment will retain the belt.

Thank God that will be up to Frank Mir and not Mr. White.

Should Bobby Lashley be allowed to fight for the UFC?

  • I would tell Dana to let him in--Yes!
  • I would tell Dana No, he already has one ex-WWE fighter too many.
  • Huh? Grandma, did you miss your meds again?
