Chicago Blackhawks Are in Flight
GoucheMay 12, 2009
There was fast action in the first period of the game on Monday night between the Vancouver Canucks and the Chicago Black Hawks, with no apparent edge for either team.
Vancouver’s Mason Raymond scored nine minutes into the game and Chicago’s Patrick Kane tied it up at the 11-minute mark. The Canucks out-shot the Hawks 13-9 in the first period and looked as if they were ready to have Game Seven back in Vancouver.
Then, Chicago’s Kris Versteeg put the Hawks ahead 2-1 at 3:54 into the second, and Jonathon Toews wrist shot increased the lead for Chicago to 3-1 at 10:17. It looked as if Chicago was going to walk away with the game, and only after a great save by Roberto Loungo and Daniel Sedin's goal which closed the gap to 3-2, it seemed the momentum had swung back to the Canucks.

Shane O’ Brien’s wrist shot then evened the score to 3-3 and Vancouver definetly had the Hawks back on their heels. There was lots of action, back and forth, in the final minutes of the second period.
Khabibulin robbed Vancouver of a go-ahead goal in the final minutes of the second. Mats Sundin scored at 3:43 into the third period to put Vancouver ahead again and it seemed the Canucks were now on the way, again!
Not so fast, two minutes later Adam Burish tied the score at 4-4. The see-saw battle continued as Daniel Sedin scored to tie the game 5-5, but seconds later Jonathon Toews put Chicago ahead again. Patrick Kane’s third goal finished the scoring and sealed the deal for the Hawks! Game, set, match…ended Vancouver was toast.
