LeBron James may have a reason to think about a wardrobe change. He completely dominated in the fourth quarter of Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs without his signature headband Tuesday night, leading the Miami Heat to a 103-100 win in overtime.
During one sequence early in the fourth, James was absolutely mugged in the post as he went up for a shot, with Miami doing everything to get back into a game held firmly in San Antonio's clutch. With about seven Spurs hitting him (and no whistle following), LeBron's headband went flying after missing a layup, and it didn't reappear for the remainder of the game.
Up to that point, LeBron had 20 points and was looking tentative. Following the headband getting knocked off, LeBron racked up 12 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, along with two assists, three rebounds, a block and a steal. And, most important of all, the victory to force Game 7.
For the rest of the fourth quarter, James led the Heat on a run to give them the lead, forcing the Spurs to fight back in order to have a chance at the end of the game.
LeBron looked like a completely different player for the remainder of the game, both in terms of actual play and his physical appearance.
Please put the headband back on, LeBron. It's like you're naked. I feel like I'm supposed to avert my eyes.— SBNation NBA (@SBNationNBA) June 19, 2013
As with any other slightly odd thing going on throughout a basketball game, Twitter took to the headband-less LeBron like Skip Bayless to a Heat loss.

Tim Duncan should run over, pick up Bron's headband, put it on and say, "Now, I'm the King."— Royce Young (@dailythunder) June 19, 2013
In one of the most thrilling playoff basketball games in some time, the folks who entertain us all throughout the season on Twitter were on top of their game (as was LeBron, who finished the night with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in 50 minutes of action).
Game 6 may have been won on the court, but we have to thank what fell off the court for the story of "LeBron's Headband Game."
Let the silly speculation begin: Will he decide to go headband-free for Game 7?
