With the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets competing in a contest that is nearly meaningless in terms of playoff positioning, but between division foes nonetheless, Brandon Bass showed what happens when bitter rivals face off at the Boston Garden.
Early on, Bass got the ball around the three-point line, shook Reggie Evans and made Brook Lopez sorry that he ever tried to D him up.
I rewound that Brandon Bass dunk and rewatched it after I put my eyeballs back in my head.— SBNation NBA (@SBNationNBA) April 11, 2013
Brandon Bass drives to the lane for the slam over Lopez: "That was nice."— Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) April 11, 2013
Nice? That was nice? I can't believe that Tommy Heinsohn didn't completely lose his wig over that dunk. He must be getting worn down after a long season.
Not only did Bass use the ball to completely ward off Lopez's block attempt, but he capped it off with a rousing rim-hanging stare-down following the dunk.
It seems as if Bass has found a source of added aggression recently, averaging 13.4 points in his past 10 games while shooting 57 percent from the floor. However, most of that surge in production has come via his jumper, not dunking all over folks' heads.
