WrestleMania XXV: What Should Have Happened

Well, as we all know, WrestleMania XXV concluded this past Sunday with many unexpected outcomes.

TAG TEAM TITLE UNIFICATION MATCH

What should have happened:

Well considering Morrison is expected to make it big as a singles superstar and The Miz is pitiful, the Colons should have won it, and yes, the match should have been on the main card.

What did happen: The Colons did win, but no one ever got to see it.

25 DIVA BATTLE ROYAL

What should have happened: The match was supposed to be a showcase of the best WWE divas of the past and present. Someone like Trish Stratus or Beth Phoenix should have won it.

What did happen: Do I really need to review the crap that took place there (Santino Marella in drag won the match.)?

MONEY in the BANK LADDER MATCH

What should have happened: The match always leads to the winner getting a huge push and there were many deserving superstars like Christian, Benjamin, or MVP who could have claimed it

what did happen:CM Punk won the match for the second year running in one if the poorest booking decisions ever.

MATT HARDY VS. JEFF HARDY

What should have happened: The match could have gone either way but perhaps Matt should have won to give the feud some credibility.

What did happen: Matt won, but the feud looks far from over.

INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH

What should have happened: The Intercontinental title was defended at WrestleMania after a long time, and it at least deserved a proper match. And did JBL deserve to go out on such a low?

What did happen: The WWE again made a mockery out of the title with Rey Mysterio winning in 21 seconds and JBL quitting, in one of the most dubious outcomes ever.

CHRIS JERICHO VS. THE LEGENDS

What should have happened: Again this match could have gone either way, but I guess the WWE couldn't let one of their top stars to lose to some aging veterans.

What did happen: Well, the match itself was OK, but Ricky Steamboat delivered a superb Hall-of-Fame worthy performance. Jericho won but the legends did get some amount of revenge in the end. Probably the best possible outcome for the match.

SHAWN MICHAELS VS. THE UNDERTAKER

What should have happened:  The match had very high expectations leading up to it and was expected to steal the show. However, the result was predictable with the Undertaker making his streak 17-0.

What did happen: What more can be said about the match that hasn't already been said? Both HBK and the Deadman delivered perhaps the greatest WrestleMania match of all time, filled with many heartstopping moments. Undoubtedly, it was a five-star match.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

What should have happened: Well, The Big Show shouldn't have been in the match in the first place. The buildup to this was extremely mediocre, and the whole love triangle nonsense was just stupid. John Cena should have reclaimed the title in this one.

What did happen:The match turned out to be better than expected, with Cena winning and even the Big Show giving a watchable performance. Thank god the love triangle did not come into play here.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

What should have happened: With Randy Orton winning the Royal Rumble, he should have won this match to solidify his status as the most talented WWE superstar and its leader for the next generation.

What did happen: The match turned out to be a huge disappointment and a match not even deserving of being the main event of WrestleMania. HHH won and again screwed Orton out of the title.

Overall, WrestleMania was a decent show that suffered from poor booking decisions that led to its downfall.
