People Actually Betting on Wrestlemania 25, Would You Win?
I found it very strange when I came across a betting site that is actually taking bets on the Wrestlemania 25.
Back in the day I used to get mad when people used to say "you know, rasslin' aint real?" But people, wrestling isn't real! Why bet? There are people out there that know the results. A very limited, but that means it can be "fixed" and isn't worth it.
But with that being said, I took the time to check out the odds and it's pretty interesting. Even mores so, mixing predictions with these crazy betting lines.
I'm not sure what they base their picks on, but here's what I'm basing mine on...
(Mind you, I'm far from up on my betting lingo)
The negative numbers depict the favorite and and the positive numbers meaning the underdog. The bigger the negative number, the bigger he or she is favored. The bigger the positive number, the least likely he or she will win. Here's the line and my picks.
25 Diva Battle Royal
Alicia Fox +2,000
Beth Phoenix -200
Brie Bella +2,000
Candice Michelle +300
Eve +2,000
Gail Kim +100
Jillian +800
Katie Lea +1,000
Kelly Kelly +1,000
Layla +2,000
Maria +300
Maryse +2,000
Melina +300
Michelle McCool +1,500
Mickie James +1,000
Natalya +1,200
Rosa Mendes +1,500
Tiffany +2,000
Nikki Bella +2,000
Field ( Any Other Diva ) -500
Looks like the clear pick is the field in this one, with Beth Phoenix as the favorite and Gail Kim coming in at a close second. Now the odds in this match seem higher then others as you have 24 reasons to be dead wrong in your pick.
I'm back in forth on the upset special, Kelly Kelly, but my brain says Gail Kim. Gail won the women's title in her debut match with the WWE (her first run) look for the magic to continue.
Winner: Gail Kim
Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Finlay +1,000
Christian +300
CM Punk +300
Kane +200
Mark Henry +200
Shelton Benjamin +500
MVP +500
Kofi Kingston +1,200
There's no clear favorites here as this mid-card match doesn't have anyone bursting to breakthrough the glass ceiling. Punk is not favored even though he dropped the IC belt so that he could get into this match. I don't think he joins Edge as the only multi-time MITB winner.
Despite all the Internet sites saying Vince doesn't want to give props to former TNA stars on his biggest show, he'll finally get his money's worth out of Christian this night. Look for Christian to grab gold and set up his long awaited friendly feud with Edge.
Winner: Christian
Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker
Shawn Michaels +230
Undertaker -300
In a battle that will truly show who's deserving of the Mr. Wrestlemania crown, we will see two future Hall-of-Famers go at it. This match without a doubt will steal the show, unfortunately for HBK he will not steal 'Taker's legacy.
Winner: Undertaker
Unified Tag Team Championship Match
The Miz & John Morrison -115
Carlito & Primo -115
This one looks to be anybody's game. If they're looking for a team to truly take tag team wrestling to the next level, they'll put the straps on Miz and Morrison. If they're looking for there next big star, they'll put the straps on The Colons and unleash Morrison.
Winners: The Colons
Brother vs Brother
Matt Hardy +110
Jeff Hardy -140
Wrestlemania is all about sending the fans home happy. The good guys usually win and the endings are typically predictable. Which is why we will see, just like the first Brother vs. Brother feud 10 years ago, the underdog will come out on top.
Although the hype for this match has died down, the duo will do everything they can to take our imaginations to the extreme. This will be one of the better matches on a lackluster 'Mania, with Matt gaining the bragging rights.
Winner: Matt Hardy
World Heavyweight Title Match
Edge +200
John Cena -200
Big Show +200
This match has boring written all over it... but with the hard working Cena and Edge involved, it will exceed expectations. Other than a better than expected match, no surprises here. Cena wins.
Winner: John Cena
WWE Championship Match
Triple H -140
Randy Orton +110
This match has received the biggest build up and the fans are expecting an all out war. This has the potential to go down as one of the best matches in 'Mania history, despite the fact we've seen these two go at it before.
I think Vegas has it all wrong when they have HHH favored, as he's no stranger to doing the job come the "Grandaddy of them All." Unless they're going to use the draft to bring back a champion to Raw, Orton needs to go over here.
No draft will be needed though, Orton goes over in dramatic fashion and solidfies himself as the future...err, the present go-to-guy for the WWE.
Winner: Randy Orton
Well you've seen what Vegas has to say and you've seen what I have to say. But what do you say? Who comes out of the rumble on top?
