In the time that remains between now and then, both teams will surely be making their final preparations for the game with hopes of securing the playoff spot that lies so close within their reach.

Let me tell you a story.  The story is about a kid named Billy.

You see, Billy could run.  And when he ran, he flew.

Billy spent his entire life training to win an Olympic gold medal.  When he reached the Olympic Trials, he ran a heck of a half mile, but finished fourth.

He missed qualifying for the Olympic team by 0.02 seconds.

But then a funny thing happened.

The third-place finisher in the half-mile opted to only compete in the one-mile race at the Olympic Games.  As the fourth place finisher, Billy was given the next spot on the team.

And not only did Billy make the Olympic Games, but his near-miss spurred him on to new heights.

With new life, Billy went to the Olympics and took home the gold medal.

Gentlemen.  Look around.

These men sitting next to you are your brothers.  Together, you've put in countless hours of hard work with one simple goal in mind—to bring that Lombardi Trophy back to Dallas.

You're a special team.  A bunch of warriors.  When you step on that field together, there's a certain magic that exists that the Dallas Cowboys franchise hasn't seen in years.

Last week, you played your hearts out, but came up a few bounces short.

Remember how it felt to have your dream stolen from you?  To come so close, but end up so far away?

But then a funny thing happened.

The Giants lost.

All of a sudden, we got our dream back.

And not only do we have it back, but fellas, it's going to spur us on to new heights.

This Dallas Cowboy football team is going to take its new life and use it to bring back the Lombardi Trophy.

Your journey starts today, gentlemen.

And you have to believe that we're going to take that field, silence the crowds and give the Redskins a taste of what it's like to lose to the best team in football.

Who's with me?
