The time for rooting for other teams has begun. The New York Jets are going to need some help to get into the playoffs, and that help will have to come starting tonight.

The Thursday night game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals has playoff implications for both the Bengals and the Jets.

With a win, the Bengals edge ever closer to the final wild-card spot. With a loss, they open the door for the Jets to sneak in.

Either way, next week's game between the Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers will serve as the final nail in the coffin for the team on the wrong end of the result.

The best-case scenario for the Jets would be a Bengals loss on Thursday Night Football followed by a Steelers loss to the Bengals either this week or next week. No matter the outcome of tonight's game, it won't change the fact that the Jets must win their final three games to even have a chance at the playoffs.
