The 7-0 Notre Dame Fighting Irish haven't choked all season. So they definitely won't against the Oklahoma Sooners despite the game being in Norman. The Irish may play some games close, but they always pull them out in the end.
Because the matchup of the No. 5 Fighting Irish and the No. 8 Sooners has become premier, College GameDay is going to be popping in for an appearance in Norman.
We’re heading to Norman next week for a Top 10 showdown between the Fighting Irish and the Sooners! #NDvsOU— College GameDay (@CollegeGameDay) October 21, 2012
Final score prediction: Notre Dame 20, Oklahoma 13.
Landry Jones is a good quarterback, but he isn't great. The Sooner quarterback has been doing great this year statistically as he is 114-for-184 (62.0 percent) for 1,353 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions (h/t ESPN).
He hasn't played a defense as talented as Notre Dame's yet. Once he finally takes on the Te'o-led defense, don't be surprised to see another pair of interceptions added to his stats for the season.
Who will win this week?
The Oklahoma defense is pretty awesome this year, and Notre Dame's offense has been mediocre all season. This should be a defensive struggle at the core with both offenses taking on defenses that have been dominant all year.
In predicting the game, there will be at least one defensive touchdown scored, and it could very well be the play that swings the game in favor of either team.
This team should be the Fighting Irish. They are one of the best teams in the country and despite playing on the road here, Manti Te'o and the Irish defense will prove again to be too much for another NCAA team to break through in order to win.
The Irish are a clutch team. Clutch teams don't choke, and as shown all throughout this season, the Irish won't care what the team's rank, standing or rivalry status is. They will take on all comers and give them a bloody nose in the form of another loss.
Lee Corso Giant Head Prediction: Oklahoma
Lee loves going with the hometown teams as he has gone with the Gamecocks, Irish and Gators in each of the last three weeks. This will continue his trend with the ugly wagon on his head again.
