Denver Broncos vs. Atlanta Falcons: Live Score, Video, and Analysis

The Atlanta Falcons have established themselves as one of the best teams in the NFL with a victory against the Denver Broncos at home. It came down to the final drive, but the Falcons defense is what put the Falcons ahead for the victory.
On third-and-goal after the William Moore interception, Michael Turner runs the ball in from the one-yard line. Falcons up 7-0 with 13:20 left in the first.
After a second interception, this time by Thomas DeCoud, the Falcons only score three on a 37-yard Matt Bryant field goal. Falcons up 10-0 with 9:47 left in the first.
Matt Bryant kicks another field goal through as the Falcons have now scored on three out of the four Broncos turnovers. Falcons up 13-0 with 10:05 left in the second.
Matt Ryan to a wide open Tony Gonzalez on a play action. The Falcons are now leading 20-0 with 4:39 left in the second quarter.
Just before the half, the Broncos finally get on the board on a dynamic play from Peyton Manning to Demaryius Thomas for a 17 yard touchdown. Falcons up 20-7 with six seconds left in the half.
Matt Ryan caps off another drive with a touchdown. This time to Roddy White. Falcons up 27-7 with 7:13 left in the third quarter.
Willis McGahee scores on a two yard run to bring the Broncos within two scores. Falcons up 27-14 with 11:48 left in the game.
Willis McGahee should be called the closer. He finishes another drive with a touchdown from two yards out. Falcons up 27-21 with 3:25 left in the game.

He flew around the field all day. He looked not only talented in coverage, but amazing against the run as well. He finished with eight tackles, one sack, one tackle-for-loss, and two pass deflections on the night.
Michael Turner gets the first down run and the Falcons close out the game.

The Falcons have still yet to lose a home opener under Mike Smith, Thomas Dimitroff and Matt Ryan.
Final Timeout for Denver at 1:54 left in the game. Falcons have second-and-eight on their own 33. Time for the Falcons to do a quick play-action. Broncos know it's going to be a run.
Sam Baker hasn't allowed a sack in both games so far this year. He has been tremendous this season.

Falcons are up 27-21. Broncos have just one time out. First-and-10 for the Falcons on their own 31 yard line. The Falcons need another first down to win the game.
Matt Ryan finds Julio Jones for the clutch catch there. When in doubt, throw it to the fastest player in the league.

Michael Turner gets three yards and a cloud of dust on first down. Second-and-six, and Turner gains just one yard.
This will be the first Falcons drive in a while that hasn't started within their own ten-yard line. The Falcon just need to control the ball and get one or two first downs and the game will be sealed.
Willis McGahee takes the handoff for a touchdown. It's now a one score game. Falcons up 27-21.
On third-and-goal, Manning makes yet another high pass.
Fourth-and-goal. If the Falcons want to make a statement, they stop Manning here.

Second-and-goal was stuffed at the one.
Third-and-goal play with just under four minutes left.
First and goal at the three. This is looking like a game.
Third-and-one after a crossing route over the middle. Ball goes to McGahee who is all but guaranteed yardage today.

Manning opens the drive with a crosser to Decker. He has just over five-and-a-half minutes to do something.
Jonathan Babineaux gets another sack though on the first down play.
Third-and-seven at their own five. The Falcons miss on the play and have to punt it away with 6:25 left in the game.
The Broncos take over inside the Falcons 45-yard line. However, the Broncos need to do something on offense if they want to make this a game.
Michael Turner gets three yards again. The Broncos are playing tremendous run defense tonight. Falcons need to keep throwing the ball.
7:30 left, but the Falcons have all the momentum and they are up 27-13. They have the ball within their own five-yard line and need to make sure they don't turn it over.

Manning makes a throw to where only Thomas can make that play, but there is pressure in the backfield.
Very next play is a deep shot, but good coverage and a bad throw make that play fail.

And the Broncos get their first sack to force a three-and-out. They will try to capitalize here and keep some momentum. However, the Falcons get down on coverage for a good stop. The Falcons defense needs to tighten up here and make a statement by forcing a three and out or a turnover.
Matt Ryan knee brace issue. He has to get a timeout called so he can fix it. Those things are a pain in the butt to fix in the middle of a game.
The Falcons take back over on the 20-yard line. They need to keep their foot on the throat.

Denver gets a five yard false start and then hands it to McGahee. The Georgia Dome is rocking, but the Broncos score here on a Willis McGahee run. Falcons up 27-14 with 11:48 left in the game.
First-and-goal. Falcons defensive tackle Peria Jerry is shaken up and John Abraham has stepped off the field now too. The Falcons have a lot of depth at end, but tackle is already weak with Corey Peters already out for the first six weeks.
