TNA Impact Wrestling: Australian Announcement Phenomenally Disappoints
Earlier this month TNA President Dixie Carter Tweeted directly to the company’s Australian fans, promising a “phenomenal announcement soon.”
Today the anticipation ended, as the announcement was revealed via TNA’s Impact Wrestling website.
Although the announcement is “phenomenal”, it’s also very little else.
TNA has announced that the company’s poster-boy AJ Styles will be spending a week “down under” during August doing media and promotional work.
The week will include time in both Sydney and Melbourne in Australia, and also in Auckland, New Zealand.
The visit is being referred to as an ambassadorial tour as part of TNA’s 10-year anniversary celebrations.
Further details are still to come, likely including locations and times for meet-and-greets with TNA’s Australian and New Zealand fans.
Although this announcement is a disappointment for those hoping for an Australian tour after 2010’s cancellation, Style’s trip may serve as a way to test the market before committing to a whole tour.
If everything goes well, fans can expect a potential full TNA tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2013.
