Danish footballer Christian Eriksen, who has made a name for himself with Holland's Ajax FC, has been in the news as other teams are looking to lure him away from his current club.

At the age of 20, Eriksen has the potential to become a great player in the Premier League.

As a young and exciting midfielder, he will be making a substantial amount of money from any team that decides to take him.

Even though he said he intended to stay with Ajax for another season, it would be difficult for him not to join Premier League or La Liga this year.

Eriksen proved to be wise beyond his years when he talked to Goal.com about transferring from Ajax.

"I would like to play in one of the big leagues - the Premier League, La Liga or Serie A - but I'm only 20 and I have time. I've seen players move too soon"

FC Barcelona

According to Goal.com, Barcelona have shown interest in acquiring Eriksen to add depth to its midfield.

Sport1.nl reported Barcelona are willing to pay €20 million for the Dutch midfielder (via GoloFootball). With the Daily Mail reporting outside interest in Daniel Alves and the Daily Mirror reporting the same of Javier Mascherano, acquiring Eriksen would greatly help the club.

Eriksen scored seven goals and had 17 assists in 33 appearances last season for Ajax, and a move to La Liga wouldn't be surprising in the least bit.

Manchester United

Eriksen retracted his statements about staying with Ajax after he showed keen interest in joining Manchester United earlier in the week.

According to the Daily Mirror, Eriksen is eagerly waiting to hear back from his current club about a possible transfer to United.

The same source reports Sir Alex Ferguson was impressed with Eriksen's talents when Ajax knocked United out of the Europa League last year and is interested in acquiring the young Dane.
