Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Why Stefan Jovetic Is Worth Breaking the Bank for
Arsenal Football Club stands on the precipice.
With Robin van Persie's inevitable departure looming, Arsene Wenger and Stan Kroenke are poised to make decisions that will determine the illustrious club's future, both on and off the pitch.
Pre-empting the Arsenal captain's departure, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud have already been signed to ensure there is no repeat of the debacle of the last transfer window, in which following Cesc Fabregas's drawn-out exit, panic signings like Park Chu-Young and Andre Santos threatened to set the club back years.

But moving early for Podolski and Giroud will likely not be enough to quell the dissatisfaction of fans, many expecting another big-name signing to propel the club into what could be the most difficult season in recent memory.
With the money received for van Persie likely to soon start burning a hole in his pocket, Wenger could do no worse than to look to Fiorentina hotshot Stefan Jovetic to reignite the club's waning flame.
Indeed, the player is already a known target for the club (via The Evening Standard).
Jovetic is quick, agile and possesses the technical ability required to make it in north London.
He is one of the finest dribblers in Serie A and has become an extremely clinical finisher, scoring 14 league goals in the last campaign.
He has also struck 9 times for his country in only 20 appearances.
For those not familiar with the Montenegrin, think of a cross between Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero.
The only issue that springs to mind would be the fact that he is relatively injury prone, having missed the entire 2010-2011 season after damaging the cruciate ligament in his right knee in pre-season.
Nevertheless, at 22, Jovetic has the potential to develop into a world-class forward, ideally playing off either Podolski or Giroud in Arsenal's attack.
If the Gunners are to move for the young phenom, now would be the ideal time, with the player's stock only set to rise and rise over the next couple of years.
Simply put, there could be no better option for Wenger to spend the "van-Persie money" on, no better direction to take the club in.
