According to WCTV, Florida State CB Greg Reid was arrested Tuesday night by Georgia State Patrol. He was taken to the Lowndes County Jail on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana. The FSU player has since been released on bond.

News has spread quickly, but Ira Schoffel, Tallahassee Democrat sports editor, cautions against jumping to conclusions just yet. Schoffel tweeted a series of messages, including a note on whether or not all the charges are actually true.

Before everyone piles on Reid, I don't think any media outlet has seen actual police report yet. There's talk marijuana charge may not exist

While a lot is still unknown, this story could hurt Florida State if true. Reid is the second-best corner for the Seminoles (just behind Xavier Rhodes) and a starter. However, there is still a lot to be learned regarding this arrest.

Reid could have been driving with a suspended license for a number of reasons. The cornerback could have potentially just failed to pay past tickets. Regardless, the police report remains unseen, and according to Schoffel, it could take a while.

Might take a little while to get report on Greg Reid arrest. Since Ga. State Patrol was arresting agency, comes thru them. And ... (con't)

... having worked in Georgia, it was my experience that that state patrol officers sometimes file reports on their next shift. So we'll see.

Talking to folks at Georgia State Patrol, sounds like Greg Reid report won't be available for a few hours. Again, this isn't unusual for GSP

And as @Warchant_DC tweeted, Lowndes jail has no real info. Just that Reid was booked last night and posted bond. Couldn't even give bond $.

In the meantime, it's best to just wait out the details of the Reid arrest. While Florida State fans are clearly concerned, as this is Reid's second arrest in just 10 months (those charges have been dropped), there is really not a lot of information. Until the police report is released, everything is just a rumor.

Per a release from the Georgia State Patrol regarding the arrest Tuesday of FSU cornerback Greg Reid:

Greggory Lamar Reid, Jr., age 21, from Tallahassee, FL was arrested Tuesday night in Lowndes County by the Georgia State Patrol during a traffic stop at the intersection of Georgia Highway 376 and Georgia Highway 7. A trooper stopped his 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis for window tint and seat belt violations around 8:45 p.m.

During an inventory of the vehicle, a suspected marijuana joint was located in a cup holder.

He was arrested and taken to the Lowndes County Jail. Mr. Reid is charged with possession of marijuana (less than an ounce); driving while license is suspended or revoked; and seat belt violation.
