Arsenal Transfer Rumors: Gunners Must Sign Yann M'Vila Regardless of Attitude
Arsene Wenger doesn’t have the luxury to be picky.
It wouldn’t just be a nice, solid signing if Yann M’Vila transferred to the Gunners—they need him. Arsenal must acquire M’Vila and ignore any supposed question marks surrounding his attitude.
In June, the Daily Mail reported that M’Vila desired to join the Gunners. He said:

"I have heard Arsenal are interested in me. I like Arsenal and I like the Premier League. I don’t know what is happening with the clubs, but yes, I would be interested in the Premier League and Arsenal.
"
More recently, though, Steve Stammers of Mirror reported that Wenger is no longer interested in M’Vila after the controversy that he created in Euro 2012.
Down one goal late against Spain in the quarterfinals, Italy substituted newly-acquired Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud for him and M'Vila refused to shake his replacement's hand.
Gasp.
The French Federation will reportedly launch an investigation into M’Vila’s decision to leave Giroud hanging and to that I say, are you absolutely kidding me?
Apparently France or Wenger have never experienced what is known throughout the sports world as, “the heat of the moment." It isn’t exactly a revolutionary concept.
M’Vila is a competitor. He’s an aggressive defender and takes pride in stopping the opposition from scoring. His home country was losing in a win-or-go-home match in the European Championship and M’Vila wanted to do everything in his power to help his football club fight back for the W.
He wasn’t given an opportunity to do so. Understandably, he was quite frustrated. I’m not excusing M’Vila’s act of poor sportsmanship—he should’ve carried himself differently—but reality check: this kid is 22-years-old.
If Wenger refuses to sign a footballer because he has fire in his belly—a defender of all positions—then the Gunners are doomed. While they finished third in the Premier League last season, they aren’t on the same level as Manchester United and Manchester City. If M’Vila isn’t a Gunner by next season, Arsenal will regret it.
