According to PWInsider

Belttalk.com, a message board featuring discussion on the creation and fandom of championship belts within pro wrestling, featured a photo of the new WWE championship belt.
PWInsider.com sent the photo to several WWE sources who noted that while there were some changes being made, it is indeed the new belt design.

You can see the photo here.

When CM Punk revealed (at a Q&A session at the Wizard World convention on June 2nd) that WWE had created a new design, I wrote an article arguing what the new Title should and shouldn't look like.

Ultimately, what I dislike about the current spinner belt is that it is full of tacky diamonds and says "Champ" instead of "Champion."

Judging from the picture of the supposed new Title belt design, the belt still has some tacky diamonds. However, the new Title at least says "Champion" instead of "Champ." For that reason alone, the new Title is an improvement in my eyes.

Overall, here are my likes and dislikes regarding the supposed new Title belt:

1) It says "Champion" instead of "Champ." That makes it more dignified.

2) It has a simpler design than the spinner belt. That also makes it more dignified.

1) It's only one color: gold. Isn't one completely gold belt (World Heavyweight Championship) enough?

2) It still has diamonds.

3) The WWE logo is front and center on the belt. Whatever happened to Eagles or a globe of the Earth?

4) The texture looks way too smooth.

5) It looks like a heavy shield.

Ultimately, the new belt seems to be an improvement considering it's simpler and says "Champion" instead of "Champ." However, I can't say I like it.
