Welcome to another edition of Transfer News Update. This week, Manchester City.
City look to improve on last season's disappointing second-place finish. What better way to do so than through the summer transfer window?
A Quick Update!
If you have not already heard, Manchester City have lost the race for Eden Hazard, who will be joining Chelsea next year.
The Manchester City front man has been targeted by Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
The team's top goal scorer has denied links to a possible summer transfer move to Madrid saying, "I am not thinking about moving to Real Madrid or anywhere else. My contract has four years left to run and I see myself being here at least as long as that."
There is really no reason why he should leave, considering City will be even better next year. The team got to know each in the past few years. Now here is a team that could challenge in the Champions League.
The transfer saga of Robin van Persie is indeed a long tale to tell.
The Arsenal striker has stalled talks on a new contract with the Gunners, leaving City ready to bid on his signature. Many, including myself, see van Persie staying with Arsenal for at least another season. He has already said he wants to win trophies and does not care so much about his salary.
This is good news considering Arsenal were only prepared to offer him £130,000 per week, while City offered £220,000 a week.
The Holland international has declared that only an "extraordinary" offer would convince him to leave the Emirates.
I predict that RVP will stay at Arsenal, despite the considerable amount of money he has been offered elsewhere.
That is what I call loyalty.
The Argentinian has had his fair share of problems at Manchester City, from saying he does not like Manchester to refusing to warm-up as a substitution in during a Champions League match against Bayern Munich.
Transfer speculation arose last summer and this January surrounding his departure. None of these rumors ever came true. Yet more continue to develop, the latest being from AC Milan.
AC Milan have in the past looked to sign the City striker, yet never put in the full effort. Yet now, they look to, once again, bid to sign him.
None of the other Carlos Tevez rumors ever came true, so I doubt this one will either. It is too bad because Tevez had been somewhat of a third wheel to Balotelli and Aguero. If he stays, what's to stop him from having another one of his famous episodes. His playing time has already diminished.
A host of Manchester City players have pledged their loyalty to their team going into the summer transfer window.
This list is:
While there are certainly more, it is easy to understand that the Manchester City team will be more or less the same as it was last year. Why would you change it? While it was very close, they won the EPL. They were inexperienced in the Champions League, yet they will do much better this coming year.
Dzeko may be leaving the Premier League after just joining City in 2011.
According to Goal.com, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international's agent has contacted Bayern Munich. The Bavarians have said that he is one of the players they have had their eye on, along with Luuk De Jong.
Dzeko scored 18 goals for Manchester City in all competitions. As he has fallen down the pecking order, behind Aguero, Balotelli and Tevez, it would not do him wrong to take a trip to the Bundesliga.
So who do you think Manchester City will be signing?
Please do not hesitate to leave your opinion in the comment section below.
Manchester City are a solid team that does not need to make many signings; they already did that with millions of petrodollars!
