Braylon Edwards Traded To The Eagles

Cj LeeCorrespondent IFebruary 4, 2009

The Eagles have just acquired WR Braylon Edwards from the Cleveland Browns for wide receiver Hank Baskett and a first round pick (28) in which they select an Offensive Tackle (if they don't want to trade a draft pick, please be sure to get Hakeem Nicks - WR, North Carolina, Height: 6'1". Weight: 210, Projected 40 Time: 4.51, Projected Round 2009: 1-2).

They wind up selecting two real good OT's which possibly can be starting as a trio at the season opener. With the Eagles first pick in the first round, the Eagles selectKnowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia.

(LeSean McCoy - RB, Pittsburgh, Height: 5'11" Weight: 207, Projected 40 Time: 4.44, Projected Round 2009: 1 ..OR.. Donald Brown - RB, Connecticut, Height: 5'10" Weight: 210, Projected 40 Time: 4.44, Projected Round 2009: 2... believe it or not, Donald Brown could wind up being the better back with the better career)!

After that, the Eagles focus in on OT's and depth. They didn't have to focus on defense for a change because of their off-season signing ofCB Nnamdi Asomugha.

Age-28 ~ This guy doesn't get nearly the recognition he deserves playing for the dismal Raiders organization. Playing one of the most important positions in the league this guy will garner serious money and will be well worth it, he's one of the select "shutdown" corners we have in the league right now.

Now with Asomugha (if you can't sign Asomugha, alternate plan;Domonique Johnson - CB, Jackson State Height: 6'1", Weight: 192, Projected 40 Time: 4.34, Projected Round 2009: 3) and Samuels at CB, with Joselio Hansen at nickleback.

Sheldon Brown moving to strong safety because Quiton Mickell moved to free safety when Brian Dawkins departed for the N.Y. Jets! So now with the best secondary in the league, the Eagles can blitz more often and not have to worry!

With the additions of Braylon Edwards added to a receiving corps of Brent Celek, DeSean Jackson, Kevin Curtis, and sometimes coming out from the backfield Brian Westbrook or Knowshon Moreno!

Blocking and giving time for Donovan McNabb (eventually Kevin Kolb) to throw to this arsenal will be the resigned for two years a piece, Tra Thomas and John Runyan. Who better to teach all these new and athletic offensive linemen the Eagles drafted!

I expect this to be the start of something special, perhaps a dynasty full of championships to come!
