Arsenal Transfer Rumors: Michel Vorm Is an Odd Target for Arsene Wenger
Forget about names like Jan Vertonghen, Yann M'Vila, Lucas Biglia and Stephane Sessegnon for a moment, and let's talk about the possible addition of depth at the goaltender position.
Wait, really?
That's right, Arsene Wenger apparently has his sights set on Swansea keeper Michel Vorm. From Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail:

"Arsenal are lining up a swoop for Swansea's Michel Vorm as Arsene Wenger prepares for a summer goalkeeping shake-up.
Sportsmail can reveal senior Gunners scouts have watched Vorm in recent weeks because Wenger wants an experienced keeper to provide competition for current No 1 Wojciech Szczesny.
Manuel Almunia's contract expires at the end of the season and he will leave north London after spending eight years at the club.
"
It's also possible that Lukasz Fabianski will seek to leave the club, so it's no surprise that Wenger would look to solidify the position.
But is it really worth the trouble to pursue a player like Vorm to challenge Szczesny, especially when Vorm would likely be giving up a starting position to take a backup role? Aren't there more realistic targets or more pressing needs to fill?
And if Vorm was too good early and Szczesny had a few subpar outings, would the whispers for Vorm taking over the position really be worth it?
It seems like an unrealistic move to me, and one that wouldn't be in the best interests of either Vorm or the team.
But we shall see what Mr. Wegner has up his sleeve.
