Big Blue Nation got their first bit of post national title bad news tonight as Shabazz Muhammad officially committed to the UCLA Bruins.  Wildcat fans can take solace in a couple of things, however:

1.  When asked about his new team, Shabazz said "It's a challenge, knowing how bad they were these last two years."  That quote may come back to haunt him if Kentucky makes it to another Final Four and he's stuck dominating the NIT next year.

2. Shabazz wasn't UK's only top target.  As of this article being published, Nerlens Noel has yet to make a decision, but he is rumored to be leaning towards Georgetown.

3. Even if the Cats miss out on Noel, Calipari has assured fans that next season would not be canceled. Kentucky's current crop of recruits is definitely nothing to sneeze at and the possibility remains that some of the underclassmen may not declare for the NBA draft.

Nerlens Noel is set to make his announcement at approximately 8:45 PM.  I'll be back with a report then (and hopefully it will be with some better news).
