The "getting to know you" portion of the relationship between potential Washington Redskins draft choice Robert Griffin III and his possible offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has begun.

RG3 was in Washington last week to do a little sightseeing and see what life in the nation's capital might be like.

There could have been a little conversation about football going on, but only Griffin could tell us the extent of that. Multiple reports including one filed by NFL.com is reporting that Shanahan will be making the trip to Texas to visit Griffin, his family and friends.

All of this pre-draft talk is actually a good sign that both the young Shanahan and his possible franchise quarterback are getting some quality time to get to know each other. As we all know the Redskins made the trade with the Rams to move up in the draft to get Griffin. He was their target from day one.

The NFL Draft is April 26th in New York, and presently things look like the Colts will take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck. That would pave the way for Washington to draft Griffin with their newly acquired second overall pick they obtained from the Rams.

Discussion of playbooks, film or inside information on the Redskins' offense is off limits right now. However, Shanahan and RG3 should still be able to find something to talk about as two guys who share a passion for football in general.

This is quality time between two men who will, after April 27th, be spending a great deal of time together.
