The biggest professional wrestling extravaganza, WrestleMania XXVIII, is only a few days away, and wrestling fans are revved up to see all of the great matches that are scheduled for the card.

One of the matches that fans are eager to see is CM Punk versus Chris Jericho for the WWE Championship, which will no doubt be one of the best matches of WrestleMania.

Over the last few days reports have been circulating around the wrestling world and amongst the Internet wrestling community that a specific WWE superstar is planning on retirement after WrestleMania XXVIII.

It was speculated that this superstar may not wrestle in another WrestleMania, but would still wrestle for the company. Many wrestling fans are guessing on who this mystery WWE superstar could be: The Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Kane, The Big Show and so on.

But among all of those WWE superstars that have been listed, Chris Jericho may be the one that's the most likely not to appear at another WrestleMania.

Wrestling fans have been critical of The Rock and his pursuits outside of professional wrestling, more specifically his acting career. But Chris Jericho also has outside projects outside of professional wrestling, the main one being the front-man of his rock band 'Fozzy.'

Much like The Rock, Jericho does not need professional wrestling to earn income, unlike most wrestlers in the business. He has invested his money wisely, so he could retire from pro wrestling, the music industry and be very comfortable.

Not only is Jericho involved with his band, but he has become a well known television personality, performing on "Dancing with the Stars." He has appeared on several television programs such as: 'Z-Rock' and 'Aaron Stone', as well as the big screen, briefly appearing in the movie MacGruber.

With the increase in his exposure on television and the movies, Jericho could land bigger roles and his time as a professional wrestler would be cut dramatically.

Jericho is 41 years old. Most professional wrestlers have performed and still continue to perform well beyond that age. Chris Jericho, on the surface seems like a person who would not want to be a pro wrestler well into his 50s or 60s.

When it comes to professional wrestling specifically, Chris Jericho has been involved in the business since 1990 and has amassed an impressive resume.

He has won tens of world championships from many promotions. If WrestleMania XXVIII is indeed the last one he will be appearing at, then that would be a fine send-off to his iconic career.

This of course is just speculation and should not be taken as gospel. Chris Jericho could be involved in the pro wrestling business for years to come.

Jericho has left his footprint in the world of pro wrestling and has given so much to wrestling fans, seeing him perform in the ring for years to come would be an honor.

Whether WrestleMania XXVIII is Jericho’s last WrestleMania, it will be worth it to see him clash against WWE Champion CM Punk and deliver what will be an instant five-star match.
