WWE WrestleMania 29: Will the Rock Face CM Punk After Battling with John Cena?

We all know by now that WrestleMania 28 will be headlined by the Rock vs. John Cena, but what about WrestleMania 29?

Who will headline the event at MetLife Stadium?

If what the Rock said is correct, he'll be thereand possibly wrestle.

So going by that assumption alone, who should the Rock face at the next WrestleMania?

Looking at the roster, the most logical choice would be CM Punk.

Why Punk, you may ask?

It's because CM Punk is the next largest superstar, along with Randy Orton, behind John Cena.

Many people are clamoring for Punk/Austin to happen and it may, but Stone Cold has to be 100 percent certain that his current injury is able to withstand the pressure of the competition, even if it's a one-time match only.

If he can't handle the pressure, why risk injury?

The safe choice is Punk/Rock, and it's not like they don't have history already.

Remember awhile back when Punk spoke his mind?

"Dwaaaayne, 'left' the WWE and ignored its existence. Cena would never do that."

There's real tension between the two, and a feud at the Grandest Stage of Them All can only help solidify Punk as a solid main-event player.

The Rock can help build him, just as he's helped John Cena.

It's too perfect actually.

The Rock has said that he wants to defeat the greatest to be the greatest. He wants to prove to the world that he's the world's top icon.

After Cena, who is there?

Punk is not an icon per se, but he somewhat qualifies as one.

He's an icon, not as the best in the wrestling world, but as someone who can make it if they set their mind to it.

He's living proof that an independent star can make it at the next level.

Like Daniel Bryan, he's an Indy "Legend." But unlike Bryan Danielson, Phil Brooks has proven he can perform at the top both on the mic and in-ring department with some of the best, whether he's a heel or a face.

The Rock, on the other hand, is already a proven worldwide superstar.

Punk isn't.

This is why, out of every match possibility for WrestleMania 29, Punk/Rock is the one that makes the most sense.

Not because Punk is the next big thing or the only choice.

But because there's already a story to be told. There's an opportunity for a star to be made. There's a chance for a true rivalry to be showcased.

A rivalry between two rivals, where it actually has a chance to be the greatest of an era both in excitement and show.

Punk/Rock at WrestleMania 29, should it happen or must it happen?

Or should the Rock face someone else if he is indeed to wrestle at WrestleMania 29?
